What is this?
The mission of the world wide Ride of Silence is to honor bicyclists killed or injured by motorists, promote sharing the road, and provide awareness of bicycling safety. It is a global event, and somewhere around the world where local time is 7-8PM a ride will be going happening.
We ask our riders to meet us at 6:45PM to prepare for the ride at 7PM, and that riders go no faster than 12mph in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.
Put another way...
* To HONOR those who have been injured or killed
* To RAISE AWARENESS that we are here
* To ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD
