This ride will honor the over 1500 residents and 21 staff members of OC Long Term Care Facilities (LCTFs) who died of COVID. Each stop will be at a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and will be a gathering point for other facilities in the area to hold a brief memorial for those who died in that area. This will not be your typical cycling event; it is more a memorial event. In order to keep the group together to arrive at each facility at the same time, participants considering the 60 mile route must be comfortable riding in a group on the road and be able to maintain a 16-18 MPH pace. The shorter route is appropriate for all levels of riders; this will be at a slower pace and will be mostly on a bike path. The two groups will meet at the final stopping point, and return together to the Health Department for a final closing ceremony.
